April Journal Page

Like my Winter page for February, I did April for Springtime. Writing about the changes that happen this time of year, then weaving the fabric together with a piece of hand painted fabric. I made the eggs & Robin from Sculpy clay, & the pussywillow branches from threads. I also used Whisper on the background. I plan to do a Summer & Autumn page in this style too.

This is a piece I wish I had done, Deb. It's wonderful. The woven strips are so effective and textural, in addition to the other texture. What is Whisper?

Gorgeous and so creative.

I used to live in Alaska! Near Fairbanks.

Rayna asked what Whisper is. It is a cellophane-like material that comes in packages around a piece of cardboard, about 8 inches wide & a few yards long. I get it at Michaels Craft store, & its intended use is for big bows on plants or Easter baskets.

A very enjoyable piece. Weaving the painted fabric with the written words is a great idea and looks great too.

It is so nice...so creative. I like that it has the 3-D elements added to it.

Beautiful--I'll just echo the others and say I like the three-D robin and egg, and the weaving. Thanks for explaining about Whisper.

Nice piece! Like the soft colors, specially the background and the contrast of black. Interesting materials too.
