FINALLY! Finished- Jan's Quilt

This is my friend Jan Will's quilt. It is a group quilt done by an appliqué group. 8 of the patterns are by an Aussie quilter Dianne Johnston, the 9th was designed in that same style by my friend Carol Wight Jones.
I've been working on it for several months now.  Having too little time for quilting it has been taking forever. Today I declare it DONE!

Part 1, Our Summer Vacation

Warren's Sister Jan & Brother-in-law Joe came to visit. On their first day here, Warren drove them down to Homer.  I flew down to meet them. We made a stop at the Bear Creek Winery.

We did a little wine tasting. It was fun!

The view from their parking lot....

We also did a little walking around on the Homer Spit. They had orders from their kids to go to the Salty Dawg Saloon.

I enjoyed the Lupine in bloom in front of an old boat.

We ate at all of our favorite places. These next few pics are from "Cups", my personal favorite.

We did a bit of lounging around the hotel,

& crashed a wedding that took place just outside our room.

Wild flowers are finally in bloom.  Above Fireweed (my favorite),
& below, Wild Geranium.

We also spotted this unusual shade of pink Lupine right next to the more common Blue, on the way back home to Anchorage.
