All Shook Up!

We Had quite the morning wake up call at 518 this morning. It was an earthquake of 4.89 magnatude, centered about 15 miles directly below our house. I had been laying awake for a couple of minutes (I wonder now if it had made a grumble that may have awoke me, before the actual big roar & movement). It was quite a ride for a minute there. I heard a few things fall, so when it stopped I went up stairs to see what it was. Loni & Don were both standing bewildered looking at their bedroom door, & all Loni said was "Wow!" It was cute. The only casualty was a tile that had been a gift from my freind Ilene. It cracked it good when it fell off the shelf, but can be glued & will not be seen without my glasses! I also threw away a handfull of toothpicks that landed on the floor along with my antique toothpick holder (it survived intact though).
Below is a Postquard I recieved from Pat in an exchange. I hope she gets hers soon, I don't want to post it here until she's seen it. Isn't it cute?Below is some progress on the Crazy Clock.

Wow! Glad you're okay! I've never been in an earthquake before. We do have the occasional tornado around these parts in Missouri though.

Wowsie! I grew up in California and have been through some rockers! It's quite a ride. I thought I was safe here in Atlanta until I met an engineer last week who works for the State and said: "heck no you're not safe, it won't be long before a big one hits here!"

Yikes!

Hey, Deb. I was looking over a Quilting Arts magazine the other day and I do believe I saw one of your bags. What a small world the blog makes......I was in QA in spring 2004 when I submitted wearable art and fabric journal.....it was the first time I had ever done anything like that before. I can't wait to get my quard from you.....and stay still and safe! Pat

It does get your attention, doesn't it? Luckily, we don't get earthquakes often in Colorado.

4.89 is quite enough to jump-start your day! Yep, that's a pretty good one alright.

I've been thrown out of bed a few times. Our house in SoCal had so many cracks in it you could stick a quarter into some of them.

Glad not too much got broken. Hang in there! Literally!

Holy moly! I am glad that didn't happen while Darian was up there! She would have freaked! :-)
