Textures & Tastes of Newport RI

Wednesday dawned bright & sunny, but with a chill wind. We decided to take a walk  around Newport.

The Trinity Church. is a famous spot. Built in the 1700's, George Washington actually attended a service here.
Several movies have used this church. Amistad among them.

I love these narrow walks between some of the buildings,

 these gnarly trees.
We checked out Cupcake Charlie's.
A peanut butter bliss, & chocolate mint just had to come home with us for later.
They were wicked good! Good thing we walked & swam today.
Here are some of my favorite architectural details & textures from our walk:
I loved this little dress. I wish I cold buy it for one of my grandgirls.
Back at the condo Warren & I took advantage of the pool & hot tub.
I loved the ceiling  tiles. Like doing my own synchronized swim show
I got this hat today because I was cold.
while these crazy kids were jumping in the water!

We had dinner at Yesterday's Ale House.
The proprietor told me these tiles were laid in the 1930's, 1 tile at  time.

The food was great.

Warren had to try the bread pudding.

I'm so glad to see that it's still cold there! The pollen here is miserable so next week will be a great break.

Yes, I know that I am the only person on the East Coast hoping for an extended winter. :)

I hope Amtrak doesn't shut down with the government!
