Hand dyed Wool, more Irish Dance Dress, etc.

It's another mix today. I got a package in the mail from my friend Kathy, who I got to dye wools with when I stayed with her in Michigan. These are the wools we dyed this trip, spread out on some of the wools we dyed years ago together. Broccoli was very interested in them. The card in the middle was one Kathy made, & it is beautiful! Thank you Kathy!
I've been mostly working on the Irish Dance dress this week. I have to wait though now, because I don't want to go any further on it until I get to try it on Hope again. The sleeves are just pinned in place right now, & the lining on top is only sewn in around the neck.
I got these sequin leaves to embellish with.
They blend in well with the fabric, but sparkle & add a lot of BLING!
I found these beaded flowers in my stash. I'm not sure if I like them here or not. I think I'll ask Hope what she thinks. I just pinned them on.
We had snow falling on us yesterday, here in Anchorage, but it's still only sticking on the mountain tops. It's Been below 30 every night at our house, but usually gets up into the high 30's during the day.
Today I worked on some birthday cards. This is one of them. It says how I was feeling yesterday after going to get my hair cut & colored. I told the girl I wanted "Highlights". She put in an all over dark brown, & tried to tell me that my gray hairs were lighter brown, so they were my "highlights". I couldn't see them, & my hair was the darkest it's ever been. I've always been more like dirty-blond-brown. Even Warren said he didn't care for it!
I tried to call Kathy to ask her advice (see is a hairdresser), but she wasn't home, so then I called my DS Em. She was always the family hairdresser, even though she never actually went to school for it. She recommended I go the the local Beauty School for a bleach job, so that's what I did. She wanted me to take a picture, but since I don't have auto-focus on my camera any more (I broke it), I couldn't really get a good picture, but this shows the color I am now. I am much happier with it & so is my DH.

So what did it cost at the school? It does look like a good color.. Oh why can't we just age gracefully?? Love you!

I love the colour on you Deb. I just went dark... too dark and it doesn't suit an ageing skin.

Has Broccoli put on weight? (I always pictured him as a svelte kitty...)

The wools are sumptuous...that cold weather would make me want to work with them.
And I love the dance dress...so different than the last one!
