Get Your Girls Vaccinated For HPV

The Medical conference in Girdwood wasn't bad. For the most part I would even say it was very interesting,
but I thought the best part was the views
The notes I took during the worst lecture, looked like this,

but the Lecture from a Dr Sher from LA, was very enlightening, & to all who wonder if & when their daughters should be given Gardasil for prevention of cervical cancer from the HPV, the answer is "The sooner the better". Ideally around age 9, because their immune systems are better & will give them better immunity, than if you wait until they are 18 or 21, so JUST DO IT NOW!
The ride home, scenery was beautiful.
I love the road between Girdwood & Anchorage.
Several ice falls were right along side the road. The ice looked blue in person.
Even Sleeping Lady looked beautiful snapped through a dirty windshield at 50MPH with my little tiny old Coolpix camera.

Wow, I've never been to Anchorage (just Adak) in the Winter. Sure is gorgeous. And Sleeping Lady is always a pretty view. Those are fabulous doodles you have there. Must be where Michelle gets it...

2 of my girls refuse to get the vaccination, saying it's "still too new" and "they don't trust it yet."

Can you give me some more ammunition? They are 21 & 23.

How beautiful. I just love snow. What am I doing living in a land with no proper winter! If I had it to do over again I'd live in Alaska, I truly would. It's the most beautiful place. As my (husband's) cousin Chuck says about finding marriageable men up there, "The odds are good, but the goods are odd." That always gives me a good snorkle (chuckle+snort).

Thanks for posting on the vaccination... so many don't want to get it as it is new... but from me, let me say I was tested last year for the virus and tested positive... I don't have the cancer, but do have t he virus and it could become active at any time! so you live with fear in your heart from test to test... please all do get the shot!!!! I wish it had been available when I was younger...

I took a class on healthcare policy & one of my class mates looked into this as a mandatory vaccine... To me that makes sense - I got the gammut of vaccines as a child & to this day I don't know what they were for. Is that good or bad? is that rationale to add another? (I don't have the answers, just the questions.)

Then again, there are those who are against all vaccines, etc.

I believe that snow is a four letter word. However, I love having it fall in our mountains, and enjoy looking at photos of it. I just don't like to have to get out in it. I'd love to visit Alaska, in the summer, but have no desire to live there.
I guess I need to find out if Mandy has had a Gardasil vaccination.

I have *serious* doubts and misgivings about not only this vaccine, but the company trying to force it on everyone (and yes, that is how I see it). Have you seen this (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=58004)
or this (http://evilslutopia.com/2007/01/gardasil.html)

Just because we can (btw, it's a vaccine to prevent a virus, NOT a cancer vaccine!) doesn't mean we should.

HPV is actually a virus with a number of various viral strains. There is no definitive medical study that has proven that HPV actually CAUSES cervical cancer. CHECK THE FACTS, don't rely on 'government recommendations' or the hype provided by Gardasil literature.

The Gardasil vaccine is only effective on SOME of those HPV strains. A simple PAP smear at regular intervals is very effective as a screen for cervical precancerous conditions. Another vaccination is NOT the answer to prevent cancer.
