Getting Ready For Winter & Quilt Finished

This morning I decided I had better put winter clothes back in the closet, & summer under the bed. We've had frost on the car & snow on the mountains every morning this week. Autumn seems to be lasting longer than usual this year. The days are stillsunny, & gold leaves still cling to most of the trees, though some have started to fall. Warren mowed the lawn for the last time yesterday, then put the lawn mower to bed for the winter, & got the snow blower ready to go.

Broc watched over the goings on.

Summer is packed & ready to go under the bed.

Winter ready in my closet.

A few clothes ready to give away.

In the studio I finally rigged up a steel cable system for hanging large quilts to photograph.

I can't get quite far enough away beacause of Lily (my longarm) being in the way, but this is better than laying quilts on the bed or floor. This is Shirley Fraser's quilt, with the quilting finished. I delivered it to her this evening, & she was thrilled with the quilting.

This is the back side.

The Hobbs wool was perfect. No bearding.

Nice quilting!
Winter already?
I checked the central heating yesterday, as it's getting colder here too. But there should be no frost before one more month (hopefully).

that quilt is beautiful. It's gotten cold here too - the winter clothes are out and the heat is on!

no frost yet in Maine but we worried about the basil growing in containers on our deck. brought those in so i wouldn't lose them before my pesto parade in the kitchen. oh, i did not want to give up sandals and t-shirts and shorts etc. but finally yesterday after a very cold thursday i did the dirty work and put the summer stuff away for what seems like an eternity.

We have frost.......just in time for bow hunting.
You do quilt heavier then anyone I know!! That is a beautiful job!! Time to raise your rates. Thread is NOT cheap!!
I've been wearing jeans & cords so you know it's cold here! Tomorrow we go close up the 'summer home'!! Love you!

Glad to hear you got your predicament solved with threads. I finally did the wardrobe switch yesterday... not a minute too soon, our world was white this morn.
