Dealing with it! & Spambot?

Well, it's not ideal, but I'm staying on line! The leak above the computer isn't as bad as it had been, so here's me, squeezing in to blog while the roof leaks. :)
I'm trying to stay optimistic. We're still getting snowfall, & have a few feet of the whit stuff on the roof. & no dear sister, we aren't going to get up there & remove ALL of it. There's too much. As it is we spent all of our daylight hours last Friday removing the ice dams along the edge, as far as Warren can reach, & it was cold a scarey work. We are raking the snow off the edges regularly, but our carpenter /builder experts both say we just have to wait until the ice that's worked its way under the roof has melted.
So here I am. blogging next to my favorite large pottery bowl.

I'm really sorry to hear about the Spambot bug that got Allie's blog. Our hospital is saying we will no longer have internet access because the bugs are getting harder to block. Apparently you can catch one just by clicking on the wrong thing while exploring the interenet. Are we all going to be out of comission soon, due to these nasties?

I hate spam. I have worked in many places that access to the net was very limited. Being the person who had to fix the computer with errors I was ok with the policy.

Glad you can work around the ice dam water drops.

That is a gorgeous bowl you are using to catch the water.

Good luck. I am glad to see you pushing your way through it.

Hospitals and internet...Apparently the hospital where I recently gave birth has wireless internet in the rooms. I am so glad my husband didn't know it, or he would have been emailing during the birth. That may be a slight exaggeration, but only a slight one.

Deb, you must have the most amazing sweater collection in the state of Alaska!
Those spambots, etc...they are like mental communicable diseases...the internet needs its own immune system!
I'll have a new blog up with much better security after I get home from next week's quilt retreat.
Meanwhile, you two stay off that roof, girlfriend!

I was reading in the paper, today, that it is a major concern that terrorists could shut down major segments of our society by using viruses and worms, etc. Kind of scary, do we need to do more about security for our blogs? My Norton has been doing emergency updates this week on our computer to stop some new virus that is a real stinker.

Forgot to say, we used to live in an apartment over our store in a building with a flat roof and leaky roofs are miserable!

Jim had over 300 spams last week. This morning alone brought another 23. Awful--I can't keep up with it. Why people would purposely create such a scourge is beyond me.

Hey, I'm glad you're doing okay and hanging in there. Keep smiling.

All my sympathy on this. We've had ice dams in the past, so I feel your pain, and the danger if you try to climb on the roof.

That's an interesting pad under your mouse, and I don't see a keyboard. Is that an interface of some kind?

Kim, in Illinois, where we've been iced in for two weeks.

Glad you're able to get back on-line anyway. I can relate, we get ice jams sometimes, too. Luckily it's mostly been a problem in our back room. Hope it doesn't do too much damage before you're able to make repairs.
I've never heard of the spambots, guess I'd better read up on that!

Oh the pottery! I had forgotten about that! I can't wait to see my stuff again!!!

I hurt today. The pain meds just don't keep up with the hurt.
