This is the first day of snow in our yard this season. It was a dark, gray day all day today, & about noon it started snowing. By night time it was just a couple of inches of wet snow on the ground. Tomorrow Anchorage will have to learn how to drive all over again. It's like that every winter.
Yesterday I made this 4x6 inch postquard. It is made from a layer of hand painted cotton fabric, with pieces of an Angelina sheet cut into circles, & a few bits of Angelina Fibers, then a layer of painted silk organza over the top. This 1st photo with the flash on highlights the sparkles from the Holoshimmer threads, Angelina, & crystal beads.
The second picture taken without the flash is a little closer to the actual colors of the piece. Neither can show the depth of the layering.

Like the looks of your embellishments and the colors are so lovely...was also thinking about your snow - our son drives everyday from Wasilla to Anchorage for work - when we talked with him tonight he said it was raining...the morning may bring a different scene! He is trying to find a nice apartment closer to Anchorage to shorten his daily commute.
Stay warm and thanks for sharing!
Beautiful postquard!
Here it's still Indian Summer, but I'm ready for some colder weather.
Pretty ~ Pretty! I just started experimenting with the angelina!! It is going to be the wings of a dragonfly! I think the body will be a bullion stitch....
Up close in your photos, it almost looks like tulle or net over the top. Does organza come like that or is it my monitor?!
Such color rich postcards-are you making up for the gloom outside?!lol
Your deck and the first snowfall looks like a postcard, it's beautiful, wish I was in your hot tub enjoying it! Your postquard is great too.
Very pretty cards- lovely colors and beautiful embellishments. You do such wonderful work.
So far we have avoided the snow to stay- we did have a fall a couple of weeks ago but it has melted - It was cool today and the sky threatened- It would be nice for it to stay away a little while longer.
Be well,
Regards,
Anna
Your postquard is great, Deb. I hate the thought of snow, yuck! Stay warm.
Have loved visiting your blog, & seeing all your lovely work!
The postcard is stunning. We are two "in the same boat"; snow here today as well! And the usual chaos on the roads.........
