"I Can't Wait Until Spring " , is the title I gave this little quilt. I made it to go into the little group exhibition of outhouse quilts that our guild is sending to Florida for an exhibit. I plan to add a border when I get it back. The fringe at the top is supposed to represent icicles.
I added this glass tile to the sky. I cut a hole all the way though the quilt to accommodate the tile. I used a fabric glue on the corners in the back to help hold it, then hand appliqued a square of fabric on the back to hold it secure. The sky is a batik, with an overlay of a net that has sparkles.

To answer Rian, the foreground opalescent fabric is a slippery, stretchy holographic fabric, that I overlayed with a shiny sheer. The outhouse is the same material, folded to make it 3 layers for opacity. The darker path is the only area where the sheer has been removed.
As for our indoor plumbing, is fixed! Thanks!

Beautiful Deb! I'm with you on wishing for spring to hurry up and get here already.
This is so gorgeous!! Lovely, shimmering colours, mixed with the dark blue - it's beautiful.
Cutest potty ever!
Yay for the plumbing and thanks for the info. I think that slippery stuff might be just the ticket for my Hoffman.
Glad your plumbing is fixed. LOL. That is such an inviting looking little outhouse; cutest one I've ever seen. I wonder if it has spiders or wetas inside?
Oooo, this looks so cold. What a misery an out house would be in the frigid North! It does translate into a beautiful quilt, though!
me either....too cold here and this says it all.
Whoever thought an outhouse could be so charming. This is great, Deb. Love all the shimmery sparkles and the little face.
Love your I Can't Wait Until Spring quilty!!! Gorgeous colors. The calendar says one more day till Spring--yay!
I love it--so sparkly and fun! I'll never look at outhouses the same way again.
I grew up on the farm using one of those things and I never visualized it that way, I can assure you. What a laugh that you Alaska quilters are sending outhouse quilts to Florida. Certainly was a timely piece for you. Glad you have your plumbing working again. When my oldest daughter moved to the mountains into a cabin with a path, I told her I would never give up my hot shower again, ever!
It's fantastic. :)
Oh! what a beautiful quilt. I love the shimmering colours, beautiful.
Very cool! Love the pun in the title...
